Mid summer, 2005. In Felix Meritis on the Keizersgracht a group of Dutch singers come together at the request of Grachtenfestival Amsterdam to sing the performance De stilte aan stukken, directed by Peter Blok. This tribute to the Comedian Harmonists, the legendary Berlin male ensemble that conquered the world around 1930, turned out to be such a hit, that the group decided to go on. They chose the name of Frommermann, after Harry Frommermann, the singer/arranger who started the Comedian Harmonists in 1928.
Ten years later, it is now clear that they wrote history with their performance. The exceptionally broad repertoire is testimonial to the success of the Frommermann-formula: irresistible music, delivered with the power, class, humour and charm of seven highly skilled musicians. And what better place to celebrate the ten-year-anniversary than right where it all started: during Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, in Felix Meritis.
A birthday bash with old familiar songs as well as new ones, with special musical guests. Ladies and gentleman, get your party dress out, it’s time to celebrate!
