Josefin Bölz

Josefin Bölz sang in a church choir from an early age and discovered her passion and talent for classical singing. At the age of 16, she started her professional career as a singer at the vocational school for music in Bad Königshofen with Sebastian Eicke, where she completed her 2-year training with the degree of "Staatlich geprüfter Ensembleleiterin" and added an artistic year in which she developed her vocal technique skills. Afterwards, she studied "Opera singing and music theatre" in Saarbrücken from 2013. During this time, she studied acting in the class of Prof. Ute Münz and workshops with Carmen Jacobi about Stanislawski technique. She was able to demonstrate her acting talent in numerous opera productions, which were performed in cooperation with the Saarländisches Staatstheater and the Hochschule für Musik Saar.

In 2014 she sang the role of Soer Anne in the opera Les Dialogues des Carmélites by Fr. Poulenc with the director Solvejg Bauer. In October 2015 she sang the role of "Diana" in the opera Iphigenie en Tauride by Ch. W. Gluck, directed by Thomas Max Meyer, conducted by Christopher Ward. In April 2016 she sang the role of Terynka, with parts of the vixen rewritten for her, directed by Solvejg Bauer and conducted by Stefan Neubert. In April 2017 she sang the role of Nora in the opera Riders to the Sea by R. Vaughan Williams, directed by Yaron Windmüller and conducted by Hans-Jörg Neuner.

In October 2017, she sang the role of Lucia in the opera The Rape of Lucretia by B. Britten with director Thomas Max Meyer and conductor Christian Schüller. She participated in 2018 in the production Der hochmütige, gestürzte und wieder erhabene Croesusby R. Keiser she performed the role of Clerida, conducted by Lutz Gillmann, directed by Barbara Schöne.

Since this time (December 2016), Josefin has been a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association. After completing her bachelor’s degree with a very good performance, she studied the Pre-Master Program in Early music at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague from 2018-2019. She received her singing lessons from Rita Dams and additional lessons from Peter Kooij and Robin Blaze. In 2019 she took part in the opera performance The Fairy Queen by H. Purcell under the direction of Michael Chance, and since September 2019 she is studying her master program Classical Voice at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with Rita Dams and Catrin-Wyn Davis. In February this year, she made her debut with the role of Trinobanta from the opera Carattaco by J. Chr. Bach at the Diligentia theatre in The Hague with Das Neue Mannheimer Orchester conducted by Anders Muskens (founder of DNMO). For this role, she received further training in historical acting and was coached by João Luís Veloso Paixão and Laila Cathleen Neuman.
