Andrei Makarov

Andrei Makarov (2002, Groningen, the Netherlands) showed a keen interest in music from a very young age. He started piano lessons aged four, and never looked back - the piano is his all. Currently Andrei is being taught by Nata Tsvereli, in the Young Talent class of Classical Music at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen. His love of the piano soon drew Andrei to the concert platform, where he feels perfectly at ease.  He has taken part in numerous events and competitions, including the Haydn Festival, the Steinway Piano Competition and the Prinses Christina Concours, as well as performing as a soloist and accompanist in the Netherlands, Germany (2015) and Armenia (2017). Andrei triumphed in the Prinses Christina Concours in 2015, and in 2018 won first prize in the national Steinway Piano Competition. In September 2018, Andrei will represent the Netherlands at the International Steinway Festival in Hamburg, Germany. To Andrei, taking part in competitions and festivals constitutes a pleasurable challenge and an inspiration towards further musical growth. Andrei's great dream is to further develop his musical talents and pursue a career as a soloist.
