The Amsterdam Corelli Collective and recorder Lucie Horsch build bridges between style and tradition. Baroque composers are the finest bridge builders in the history of music. Regardless their nationality they were ever so skillful in bridging unfamiliar, unknown musical territories.
Johann Sebastian Bach wrote ‘French orchestra suite’ and Händel a very Italian ‘Ouverture’. Vivaldi is another astounding example – born and raised in Venice, city of a myriad bridges, he was a role model for many of his contemporaries. These household names form a perfect bridge to composers like Hasse or the Flemish Van Maldere. Two lesser known names who wrote symphonies, which, in their turn, form a bridge to the symphonies from Mozart to Beethoven.
The Amsterdam Corelli Collective is delighted to undertake this journey with young recorder Lucie Horsch.
