Minimal, classical, electronics, visuals in Lil' Club. In Code is a dazzling blend of sound and vision, tittilating the senses: an audiovisual performance by Terry Riley's 'In C' for harp, electronics and real-time visuals.
American composer Terry Riley got the idea for ‘In C’ during a bus tour to San Francisco in 1964. His revolutionary composition changed the world of music. Although Riley’s style is sometimes labed as ‘minimal music’, it is impossible to pinpoint. His compositions crosses borders; his curiosity drives him to constant renewal and embracing new technologies and ideas. Most performances of In C, initially written for 35 musicians, last between 45 and 90 minutes. At In Code it is all about structure, freedom and connection, while electronics and acoustics, instruction and improvisation, unity and hybrid come together.
With Gwyneth Wentink, Wouter Snoei and Arnout Hulskamp.
Afterwards all the chairs are put aside and is our DJ in control of the electronics of In Code. Feel free to dance!
