"Caspar Vos plays with Heart and Soul" - Trouw
"God, how incredibly beautiful this all is" - Parool
Praise for pianist Caspar Vos' album Restart, devoted entirely to the oeuvre of the rarely played composer Frederic Mompou. Although he falls outside the realm, there is a compelling story hidden behind this misunderstood genius. No one puts it into words more beautifully than writer Mirjam van Hengel, who during this narrative concert takes us into the life of the shy Catalan. He called himself a man of few words and a composer of few notes. Van Hengel leads us around in his intimate and tranquil universe. Although Mompou wrote almost exclusively for the piano, he also composed a number of beautiful songs, performed today by mezzo-soprano Maria Warenberg, sister of our Artist in Residence Alexander Warenberg.
