During this concert, harpist Inge Louisa van Grinsven plays pieces originally written for the harp from Scarlatti's sonata. Her show starts with a serene piece, somewhat contemplative. Since Scarlatti spent almost his entire life in Italy, he was not influenced by contemporaries outside of Italy such as Bach and Handel. This gave his keyboard music an unprecedented style of its own.
Inge Louisa van Grinsven (21) won awards at national and international competitions. Inge has been a laureate of Classic Young Masters since 2017. As a soloist, Inge has performed with Orkest Zuid and with Sinfonia Rotterdam. Furthermore, she played in the Youth Orchestra Netherlands and the National Youth Orchestra. Inge performed as well in de Doelen in Rotterdam, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, during the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, the Bachfestival in Dordrecht, at NPO Radio 4 and at TV program Podium Witteman. Since 2019, Inge studies harp at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Erika Waardenburg and Gwyneth Wentink.
