We all know Einstein was a genious scientist, but very few people know he also was a very talented violinist. His mother was a pianist and therefore, Albert discovered the violin at a young age. Soon he played Mozart duets with his mother on piano. "Mozart's music is so pure and beautiful, that I see it as a reflection of the inner beauty of the universe", he would later say to a friend. Einsteins scientific thinking was visual and intuitive and was often inspired by his activities as a musician. Music helped him to think. His favorite composers were Mozart, Bach, Beethoven and Schubert, and the violin was his greatest source of joy. In his own words; “If I hadn't been a scientist, I probably would have become a musician. I often think in music. I daydream in music. I see my life in music. ”
