Vanessa Waldhart

VANESSA WALDHART was born in 1994 in Tirol, Austria, and is a member of ensemble of Opera Halle (Saale) in Germany in season 2018/2019. Beside that she is guest at Opera Chemnitz (Germany) as Queen of the Night in Mozart’s „The Magic Flute“.

Vanessa Waldhart came in touch with music quiet early (singing, piano, piano trio, ballet). While attending classes in high school she started studying Singing at the Tyrolean Conservatory and graduated with honour. After graduating she did a bachelor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and also graduated with honour in 2017. Beside her master studies with Gabriele Lechner, Reto Nickler and Christoph U. Meier at mdw master classes with KS Christa LUDWIG, KS Brigitte FASSBAENDER and Magreet Honig complete her studies.

Beside taking part in several projects at Innsbrucker Festival of Early Music, of Schlossoper Haldenstein (CH), at Castle theatre Schönbrunn Vienna and at National theatre Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina), her repertoire includes sung roles like Zerlina (Mozart: Don Giovanni), Nanetta (Verdi: Falstaff), Asteria (Handel: Tamerlano), Blonde (Mozart: The Abduction From The Seraglio) and Queen of the Night (Mozart: The Magic Flute). For her debut as Blonde with Chamber Philharmonics Graubünden at Summer Festival of Castle Haldenstein (CH) she got excellent reviews, as well as for her Queen of the Night in Vienna and Sarajevo.

As a winner of numerous competitions for example she won first prize at the 21. INTERNATIONAL FERRUCCIO TAGLIAVINI – singing competition and also received the „Dame Joan Sutherland“-Prize as best Soprano of the whole competition. In 2016 she also became First Prize Winner at „MUSICA JUVENTUTIS“ and got an invitation for a Lieder recital at the Konzerthaus Vienna in May 2017.

She also is asked as soloist for LIED and ORATORIO quiet often. Among others in June 2017 she made her debut at the sold out Goldener Musikverein Vienna as Soprano soloist in Orff’s „CARMINA BURANA“ with great success.

Beside that she is a scholarship winner of FOHN-Foundation Vienna 2015 and FEILING-Foundation 2016 and got the SYLFF-Fellowship of the Tokyo-Foundation for her distinguished accomplishments.

One of her favorite roles is the Queen of the Night for her high notes, her coloraturas and her special character.

A great labour of love for Vanessa Waldhart is Duo Waldh-ART. Together with her father, musician and composer Roland Waldhart (guitar, saxophone, vocals) she gives concerts with a special program: they perform own compositions and jazz music as well as music from Latin-America.
