Shaza Manla, qanun. Shaza was born in Damascus in 2003. At the age of seven she started teaching the qanun in Egypt with the famous teacher Saber Abdulsatar. She soon gave concerts in Egypt together with her sister Jawa op de oud. In 2015 she came to the Netherlands where she continued to give concerts. She has played in various places and occasions, including the concert hall, the music building, free sounds and also played abroad with various musicians, including Jordi Savall.
In 2017 she won the first prize in the composition competition of the Dutch Wind Ensemble with her composition "it doesn't matter". In 2019, Shaza and her sister played a concert for the king and queen on the King's Day.
