Robbrecht Van Cauwenberghe

Robbrecht Van Cauwenberghe is from Ghent (Belgium) and started playing the accordion at the age of 8. In 2013 he was admitted to the class of An Raskin at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague where he was supported by an excellence grant. In addition to several master classes, Robbrecht also took half a year of lessons with Prof. Janne Rättyä at the Kunstuniversität Graz (Austria) during his Bachelor's degree. From a profound interest in classical music, he also obtained his Bachelor's degree in musicology at the Catholic University of Leuven last year with the degree 'magna cum laude'. Among the many musical collaborations include a permanent duo with violinist Coraline Groen (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra). In addition, Robbrecht will soon also be heard in a new production of Theater in Sonnevanck in co-production with De Nederlandse Reisopera (2019-2020 season). Robbrecht has already been featured on NPO Radio 4 several times this year and was also invited as a 'young hero' in the Podium Witteman program.
