Magalí  Datzira

Magali Datzira (Barcelona, 1997) is a double bassist and singer from Catalonia, Spain. She has grown up in a musical environment since her childhood and now is starting to grow as a professional musician, making her own music and being part of many projects.

She has studied in different music schools in Barcelona, including the big band of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band directed by Joan Chamorro, which especially influenced her career as a double bassist and singer.
She attended the high school as a classical double bassist in the IEA Oriol Martorell, meanwhile received a scholarship as a jazz singer to do the preliminary career year with the teacher Celeste Alias in 2013-2014 at the Conservatori del Liceu.

During those years she was also doing double bass lessons with Giulia Valle, after having Jose Maria Galvez as her teacher for more than 6 years before that.
  
She just finished her bachelor degree in the ESMUC, where she did one year of exchange in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
During the years at the SAJB, she has recorded many CDs with great musicians as Dick Oatts, Terrell Stafford, Wycliffe Gordon, Scott Robinson, Scott Hamilton, Bobby Gordon, Michael Moore and more. She has also been part of many Jazz Festivals and great venues, in Catalonia, but also around Europe.

In December 2017, she went to Ciudad de Mexico to play at the Festival Internacional de Jazz de Polanco, with her own group. In the August 2018 she also went to Switzerland to play at the Auvernier Jazz Festival, performing alone with her double bass and voice solo skills
