Lisa Schreiber

Lisa Schreiber (2000) started playing classical saxophone at the age of eight and won several youth competitions, such as 'Jugend musiziert' and the 'Prinses Christina Concours' in both categories solo and chamber music. Lisa started her studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2018 and became part of saxophone coryphee Arno Bornkamp's class, at whom she is currently studying.

Hungry for knowledge and driven by passion, Lisa visits masterclasses troughout Europe, regularly. She was taught by iconic saxophonists such as Asya Fateyeva, Jean Dennis Michat and the Raschèr saxophone quartet. Non-saxophonists have inspired Lisa as well. For example, she deepened her studies by attending sessions with baroque specialist Walter van Hauwe. A recent and very enriching experience was following the Mindful Music Making course with the Russian-German violinist Alina Pogostkina.

In 2019, Lisa founded the 'Dokwerk' saxophone quartet with three colleages of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam: a young, committed ensemble whom started a journey looking for extensive musical possibilities of expression, eagerly collaborating and performing throughout the Netherlands. As a soloist and member of various chamber music ensembles, Lisa has performed in well-known concert halls such as the Concertgebouw, Het Muziekgebouw aan het IJ, Paradiso and the Philharmonie in Haarlem.
