Lidewij Mahler

Lidewij Mahler (1981) had a little taste of acting before her studies even started, during the youngsters production Magic at Toneelgroep Amsterdam in 1997. Ze graduated in 2006 for her Bachelor of Theatre, actor, at the Amsterdamse Toneelschool & Kleinkunstacademie. Mahler lives up to her surname, as she regularly performs in music theatre productions such as the NO&B and the Gelders Orkest, where she fulfills the role of narrator and actress. Both disciplines came together in 2014 during the theatre play De Ontdekking van de Hemel of Hummelinck Stuurman Theater Producties. Lidewij played the part of cellist Ada Brons, where she played all the cello parts herself.

Early on, Lidewij earned her spurs: directly after graduating she played a part in the international success movie Zwartboek, directed by Paul Verhoeven. For the role of Ankie, in the film Flirt (Jaap van Eyk), Lidewij got nominated for a Gouden Kalf in the categorie best female in a supporting role. Lidewij appeared on television in various series such as Sorry Minister, Goede Tijden Slechte Tijden, de Ontmaskering van de Vastgoedfraude, Eileen and Circus Waltz. Last year, Lidewij took part in Het Verhaal van Hester (Erik Vos) and De Maatschap (Michiel van Jaarsveld).
