Ernst Munneke concentrates on chamber music, opera, and lieder accompaniment. He has participated in master classes of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Robert Holl, Graham Johnson, Roger Vignoles, and Mikael Eliasen. He has performed in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Austria, Hungary, Turkey, the United States, and the Dutch Antilles. In addition, Mr. Munneke has participated in various festivals, such as in Manchester (Vermont), Brevard (North Carolina), and Schwarzenberg (Austria). Besides playing chamber music concerts and lieder recitals, he works as a répétiteur for Opera Studio Nederland, de Nationale Reisopera and De Nederlandse Opera.
In February 2003 Ernst Munneke became a finalist in the fifth Internationaler Wettbewerb “Franz Schubert und die Musik der Moderne” in Graz, Austria. In July 2003 he became first prizewinner of the Internationaler Hans Gabor Belvedere Wettbewerb für Opern-Korrepetition in Vienna.
Mr. Munneke accompanies Tania Kross on her first CD, which will appear this summer on Universal Records. He studied with Alan Weiss, Jan Wijn, and Håkon Austbø at the conservatories of Utrecht (BM) and Amsterdam (MM), and lieder accompaniment with Rudolf Jansen.
