Doriene Marselje (1988) came into contact with music from an early age
At the age of six, she started taking harp lessons with Lenie de Meij in Rotterdam.
Her talent was noticed within a year and she received the Young Talent Prize at the
Gergiev Festival, presented in the Doelen where she also gave her first solo concert.
In 1999 Doriene was admitted to the Young Talent Class of the conservatory of
Utrecht, where she was taught by Erika Waardenburg. She continued her studies with prof.
Waardenburg during her Bachelor degree at the conservatory of
Amsterdam.
From 2009 she continued her studies with Ernestine Stoop, and Doriene obtained both her
Bachelor as her Master degree at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.
Doriene Marselje performs as a soloist throughout the Netherlands and she can also be seen regularly
and listen to on TV and radio.
In addition to her career as a soloist, she is part of various permanent ensembles, such as
the "Marselje Duo" with her sister, violinist Annelieke Marselje, the "Gizmo Duo" with
flute player Ilonka Kolthof, the "Aemstel Trio" with viola player Joël Waterman and flute player Sarah
Oukrat., And she is a much sought after guest musician with companies such as the RCO Camerata.
Doriene's passion for music and her curiosity are the driving force behind her many
collaborations; she is involved in various multidisciplinary performances and is one
permanent member of the Kameroperahuis Collectief, with whom they play original music theater
makes and executes.
