Caspar Horsch

Caspar Horsch (1995) started his violin lessons with Julia Veerling at a young age. From 2007 he studied with Coosje Wijzenbeek at the Young Talent department of the Conservatory of Amsterdam. There he was part of the string ensemble the Fancy Fiddlers, with which he performed throughout the country. In 2017 Caspar obtained his bachelor's degree with Liviu Prunaru at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, and he is currently studying further with Liviu Prunaru at the master's program in Amsterdam. Currently, Caspar studies with Lorenza Borrani at the Fiesole School of Music in Italy.

Caspar has won prizes at the competitions of the Stichting Jong Muziektalent Nederland and the Iordens Viooldagen. In 2011 he won the second prize at the Davina van Wely Violin Competition in The Hague, where he performed as a soloist with the Atheneum Chamber Orchestra. He also performed during the Grachtenfestival and during a public masterclass by Liza Ferschtman in the Kleine Zaal of the Concertgebouw.

In the 2017-2018 season, Caspar participated in the Academy of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, where he made a lot of chamber music with the other academics in addition to playing in the orchestra for a large number of weeks.

Caspar is also a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra, with which he toured several cities in Europe on tours led by conductors Gianandrea Noseda and Bernard Haitink.
