Ab Nieuwdorp (1975) presents NPO Radio4 the morning program De Klassieken. On the radio, Ab plays the well known classical repertoire but also the hidden gems: 'a day without discovery is a day you didn't live'. Sometimes his listeners tell him they have been late for a meeting because they did not want to miss the ending part of a music piece they were really touched by.
In this multicoulored musical landscape, Ab likes to be the guide: he tells about music and composers passionately; connects with other artistic movements and the prevailing spirit and the current time. Besides his work as a radio maker, Ab is associated with the Grachtenfestival as an artistic director and a presentor of various concerts, such as the 'Meesterlijk' series from last year's festival.
