Christian Jongepier

Christian Jongepier (2000) plays cornet, bugle and trumpet from the age of six. After the talent training at the Zeeland Music School, he has been studying at the Utrecht Conservatory with Arto Hoornweg (RPhO) since September 2018. For many years Christian has had a passionate mentor in him and his colleague from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music (Ohio, USA).
He wants to develop into a symphonic trumpet player. By invitation, he played not only with various amateur symphony orchestras this year, but also with Het Gelders Orkest, the Orkest van het Oosten and the Rotterdam Philharmonisch Orkest.
Christian is a solo cornetist in association and in that capacity he participated at the age of thirteen with brass band Delta Brass Zeeland in the World Music Competition in Kerkrade and also won the championship at the Open French Brass Band Championships. At Brassband Rijnmond, coming out in the champions division, he is the assistant principal. He has his own copper quartet with his brother and parents.
He is also solo active, o, a. at the Princess Christina Competition where he reached the national semi-final in 2017. He also plays solo with symphonic and Hafabra orchestras. He played with the Zeeuws Orchestra on cornet "Carnaval de Venice" by J.B. Arban, on a trumpet with the Viotta symphony orchestra from The Hague, the trumpet concerto of Hummel and with the Gelders Fanfare orchestra the trumpet concerto of Arutunian.
In 2017 Christian also played at the Grachtenfestival, then in the Westerkerk in the series "young talent in the old Wester"..
