Mengjie Han

Mengjie Han (1989) received his first piano lessons at the age of six. From 2000, he has studied at the Royal Conservatory The Hague under Marlies van Gent and has been studying at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Jan Wijn since 2008. Mengjie has won prizes at the Steinway Pianoconcours, the YPF Piano Competition, the Princess Christina Concours and the International Maria Campina Pianocompetition among others. He has followed masterclasses with pianists such as Idil Biret, Leslie Howard, Boris Petrushansky, Jacques Rouvier, Stephen Kovacevich, Simon Trpçeski and Dimitri Bashkirov. Mengjie regularly performs at national and international events, such as the YPF Galaconcert, the YPF Midsummerconcert at Paleis het Loo, the Steinway Piano Marathon Concert, the Grachtenfestival and the International Steinway Festival in Hamburg. As a prize winner of the Princess Christina Concours, Mengjie has given concerts in Athena, Tunesia, South-Africa, the U.S.A. and Canada, on personal invitation at the Dutch Embassies and consulates. He regularly plays solo piano with orchestras and plays a lot of chamber music.
