VELVET PLAZA (2020) is an Afro-Jazz experience, with worldly influences. A variating fusion band, with different musicians and creatives from a homegrown Amsterdam community. Raised by the gospel music from church, the band players share their roots through different instruments. By tapping into the '60s and ’70s aesthetic, the musical journey gives a melancholic and nostalgic atmosphere. With roots in West Africa, the rhythms and melodies are composed and reinterpreted in a contemporary vessel.
