The Bop Collective is a large Jazz ensemble (septet or octet) which shows a big palate of flavors. The repertoire is formed by original compositions and arrangements by the saxophonist Irene Reig and the common characteristic between all the themes is a really cantabile and distinctive melody. These melodies are combined with a variety of different grooves and rhythms from Jazz tradition which are cleverly calculate for each tune. The result is an interesting blend of sonorities which will captive all the audience.

The Collective was born in Barcelona (2015) but it is based in Amsterdam nowadays. It performed in many venues and clubs such as the Jamboree Jazz Club (Barcelona), Nova Jazz Cava de Terrassa, Paradox Tilburg or Bimhuis Amsterdam. The first Cd of the band -The Bop Collective- is already recorded and will be out in May 2018. The Cd release tour will start in June 2018.

The band is also politically involve in terms of sexism and gender: the band is formed by women and men, something not really common in the jazz scene, unfortunately. The music is also involved since some of the tunes explain stories or situations about discrimination.
