Ensemble

Muziek in de wind is a classical music ensemble from Amsterdam co-funded by Nicolae Stiuca (accordion) and Nair Gimenez (voice) in 2020 with the aim of share their passion for music. The ensemble performs mainly Opera, and music of the romantic period. For this special concert you will be able to listen some beautiful chamber music songs that bring a landscape of romantic stories, to continue opera arias from the Bel canto period and in the end a little bit of Verismo as the cherry of the cake.

Nair Gimenez 

Argentine Soprano Nair Gimenez was born in Mendoza, Argentina. She started showing her passion for singing at the age of six. At the age of 15, Nair won 2 gold medals at Cantamerica international singing competition in the folk genre for two years in a row. When she turned 18, she won a full scholarship to study Performing Arts for one semester at Point Park University, Pennsylvania, United States.

After graduating from her Bachelor’s Degree at the National University of The Arts in Argentina, Nair came to The Netherlands to continues her vocal studies with Yvonne Schiffelers and Abigail Richards at Conservatorium Maastricht. During her time in Buenos Aires Mss. Giménez was a frequent guest of the the “Piazzolla Conservatory Orchestra”. Her main operatic debut was in 2018 as Lisa in “La Sonnambula” in Asturias Theater, one of the most emblematic theaters of Argentina. In the Netherlands she participated at the Musica Sacra Festival with Philharmonie Zuidnederland She participated in many master classes with great personalities such as Gustavo Lopez Manzzitti, Raul Gimenez, Joyce Di Donato, and The Martha Argerich Present Project.

Nicolae Stiuca Biography

Nicolae Știuca was born on 12 July 1996 in Chisinau (capital of Moldova) in a family of musicians. After graduating musical High-School in Chisinau, Nicolae started his studies at Conservatorium van Amsterdam at accordion department with teachers: Marieke Hopman and Marko Kassl. After a great entrance examination, he won and received a very prestigious award from Dutch Minister of Culture Jet Bussemaker: “Holland Scholarship”.

Nicolae graduated from his Bachelor degree in 2019, and in May 2021, Nicolae graduated with a Masters degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Currently, he is following a PhD program in Iasi, Romania. Winner of more then 20 national and international competitions on accordion solo, performed on main stages of Moldova, Romania, Hungary, Czech, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium etc.
