Lucas Santana Brazilian Quartet is een Braziliaans ensemble die toegewijd zijn om liefde voor verschillende traditionele Braziliaanse muziek te delen zoals Chorinho, Samba, Frevo, Forró, Baião en Xote. Het Brazilian Quartet is erop gefocust om het beste van Braziliaanse muziek naar boven te brengen in een instrumentale setting.
Lucas Santana is een opkomende saxofonist in de Nederlandse en Braziliaanse jazz scene. Santana heeft zijn stempel gedrukt op de Nederlandse jazz scene door op grote podia te spelen zoals het Bimhuis, LantarenVenster en TivoliVredenburg. Daarnaast heeft hij verschillende prijzen gewonnen in de prestigieuze Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation in 2016, Jazz Contest Bucharest in 2017 met het AG Quintet, Keep an Eye Records in 2020 en de Downbeat Magazine Student Award in 2021.
Lucas heeft met verschillende grootheden op het podium gestaan zoals Bob Mintzer, Vince Mendoza, Miguel Zenón, Dick Oatts, Hermeto Pascoal en nog vele anderen! Lucas werd ook uitgenodigd om te spelen met het Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, the Four Tops & Temptations, en hij werd als gastsolist uitgenodigd in de Metropole Studio Sessions: World Tour - Brazil.

Lucas Santana is an upcoming saxophone player in the Netherlands’ and Brazil’s jazz scene. Having played stages such as Bimhuis, Lantaren Venster and TivoliVredenburg, Santana made his mark in the Dutch jazz scene. Next to that, he won the awards in the prestigious Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation 2016, Jazz Contest Bucharest 2017 with AG Quintet, Keep an Eye The Records 2020 and the Downbeat Magazine Student Award 2021.
Lucas was privileged to share the stage with heroes such as Bob Mintzer, Vince Mendoza, Miguel Zenón, Dick Oatts, Hermeto Pascoal among others.. He was also invited to play with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, the Four Tops & Temptations, and was featured as a soloist in the Metropole Studio Sessions: World Tour - Brazil.
