The Helikon Quartet, consisting of four young women, was founded in 2015 and has been studying at the Dutch String Quartet Academy since 2017. The quartet has already given many concerts throughout the Netherlands. For example, they played in the small hall of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, TivoliVredenburg and Orpheus Apeldoorn. In 2018 they gave a number of concerts during the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht and the String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam. The quartet likes to pay attention to current topics and regularly collaborates with composers. After they premiered the string quartet of S. van Yperen in 2017, they again gave a world premiere during the NJO Music Summer last summer. This time a work by composer Ryan Probert, called "Twilight City". For this festival, they performed a program inspired by climate change.

The Helikon has been intensively coached over the past two years by Quatuor Danel, within the Rabo Next Stage, a coaching trajectory for young talent organized by TivoliVredenburg. In 2016, the quartet received a scholarship to attend master classes at the Chilingirian Quartet in England. In 2017, Helikon attended classes as a guest ensemble within the European Chamber Music Academy. They received lessons from among others Stefan Metz, Luc-Marie Aguera, Eberhard Feltz, Petr Prause, Daniel Rowland, Miguel da Silva, Johannes Meissl, Emanuelle Bertrand, Ásdís Valdimarsdottír, Dmitri Ferschtman and Cuarteto Quiroga.
