Ensemble

The Ardemus Quartet, finalist of the prestigious Dutch Classical Talent Award 2017/2018, was forged by the fervent passion for chamber music (Ardemus: lat .: we burn). The four young international musicians are seamlessly connected and bring a refreshing musical experience. The quartet performs in the Netherlands and throughout Europe and has been a guest at many festivals, including the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht (NL), Grachtenfestival Amsterdam (NL), Wonderfeel Festival (NL), Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival (DE) , Festival Westfalen Classics (DE), Festival Next Generation in Bad Ragaz (CH), Osor Musical Evenings (HR), St. Mark's Festival Zagreb (HR), and played in concert halls such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Lisinski Hall Zagreb, Izumi Hall Osaka , Konzerthaus Berlin, Scala Basel and Bozar Brussels. Since its founding in Amsterdam (2014), the Ardemus Quartet has won various prizes at national and international competitions: Boris Papandopulo Competition in Zagreb (2015), Canal Festival Competition in Amsterdam (2016), International Competition for Young Musicians Ferdo Livadic in Samobor (2016) , and was in the semi-final of the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in Japan (2017). In 2018 the quartet toured the Netherlands as finalist of the Dutch Classical Talent Award. They collaborated with directors Annechien Koerselman and Margrith Vrenegoor, with pianists Boris Kusnezow and Mario Häring, the Cantus Ensemble and composers Tijmen van Tol, Davorin Kempf, Sanda Majurec and Donald Yu. In May 2019, the Ardemus Quartet released their debut CD "TRACES" with Cobra Records.

The ensemble studied with Arno Bornkamp and Sven Arne Tepl at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and at the Dutch String Quartet Academy with Marc Danel and Gilles Millet (Quatuor Danel). They attended master classes with Luc-Marie Aguera (Ysaye Quartet), Prof. dr. Eberhard Feltz (HfM Hans Eisler Berlin), Petr Prause (Talich Quartet), Stefan Metz (Orlando Quartet) and Misha Amory (Brentano Quartet).
