Featuring almost all of the songs written by Boris Blacher and published during his lifetime. A fascinating and varied journey through different styles and temperaments, sung by André Morsch and Rosanne van Sandwijk, skillfully accompanied by Arthur Rusanovsky (violin) and Jeroen Sarphati (piano). The songs are alternated with repertory for violin and piano and accompanied by videos based on the graphic work of Paul Rosié, a cartoonist who was well-known in Berlin in the years just after WWII. The audience will be taken back to Berlin in the period 1946-1948, a time when film, music and literature were re-discovered, and a time of a remarkable openness between East and West, before The Iron Curtain was drawn.
