The Leerorkest is based in Amsterdam’s Bijlmer neighbourhood and offers musical instruction to children between the ages of around 7 and 13, as well as the chance to play in a real orchestra, thus providing an opportunity for them to discover and develop their musical talents. Today, the Leerorkest performs together with none other than Curaçaoan-Dutch singer-songwriter Izaline Calister.
This grand finale of the Music for the future series celebrates the 150th anniversary of the abolition of slavery.
