In this morning concert, (former and future) academics from the Concertgebouw Orchestra play the most beautiful chamber music works. Every year, the Academy of the Concertgebouw Orchestra hosts a number of talented young musicians. During an entire orchestral season (September-June) they participate in orchestral productions and are accompanied by members of the orchestra. In addition, the academics attend classes, workshops and training courses and play chamber music concerts at various locations. Since its inception in 2003, the Academy has trained dozens of successful orchestral musicians. Most play in professional orchestras; as many as eleven of them are now part of the Concertgebouw Orchestra.
The academists are:
Caspar Horsch - violin
Marlene Dijkstra - violin
Elisa Karen Tavenier - viola
Liesbeth Bosboom - cello
Annemiek de Bruin - clarinet
