Today, it’s the audience that will be judged! During this competition, audience members can pit their listening skills against each other while enjoying performances on a number of rare cellos from the NMF collection. The cellos will be played by Joris van den Berg, former winner of the Nationaal Celloconcours and a musician at the NMF. A professional coach will also be on hand to offer pointers about what to pay attention to in order to win this listening competition.
The programme begins at 3 pm at Het Compagnietheater at Kloveniersburgwal 50 in Amsterdam. During the first half, you’ll be asked to answer a series of questions to the best of your ability. During the intermission, you can recover from your auditory exertions over a cup of coffee or tea. Following the intermission, enjoy another brief concert by cellist Joris van den Berg, a past winner of the Nationaal Celloconcours, who will be playing a Grancino cello (Milan, 1703) provided on loan by NMF. The NMF will announce the winner of the NMF Luisterconcours at 4:45 pm.
