The iconic threesome by Bredero wakes up in an absurd prog-rockopera!
Gerbrand Adriaenszoon Bredero, poet, playwrite and fullblooded Amsterdammer, was deceased 400 years ago on 23 August 1618. The three main characters from his most famous work, ‘De Klucht van de Koe’, are the inspiration for a brand new opera cum tribute to Bredero. Everything is different. The countryside calm is shaken by prog-rock, baroque instrumentaria, wry rhythm and utterly sweet melodies. The cow has outgrown its meadow and the farmer grows money. The thief has lost her obsession for material matters and longs for spiritual booty. Bredero’s iconic threesome has forever turned their back to the innocent universe of the comedy to wake up in an absurd, dark and physical musical tragedy.
