A New World was created in turbulent times when the public and artists could not meet to experience art together. Nowadays everything is allowed again, but turbulent times remain. During this program the Dutch Saxofoon Octet wants to seek a rapprochement where distance used to be the norm. A symphonic work in the living room, a new composition, and renewed contacts.
David Cristobal Litago arranged Antonin Dvorak's 9th symphony for eight saxophones. NS8 makes you listen with different ears to this iconic work, in which nostalgia and hope splash from the stage in a continuous whirlwind. They also play the dreamy September which Sarah Neutkens wrote for NS8. Neutkens describes her music as melancholic, yet room for something hopeful.
