For the series Meesterlijk! Grachtenfestival Amsterdam links young masters to old(er), seasoned masters of the trade.
Meesterlijk! will be concluded by two very young masters of international fame: Lucie Horsch (flute) and Sonoko Miriam Welde (violin).
Lucie is a truly allround talented. At present she is studying flute with Walter van Hauwe at Sweelinck Academie of Conservatorium van Amsterdam, but she is also taught by Marjes Benoist to play the piano. Lucie represented the Netherlands at the finals of the Eurovision Young Musicians 2014. There she became friends with violinist Sonoko Miriam Welde, who represented her country Norway in the same competition. Sonoko Miriam studies with Prof. Stephan Barratt-Due at the prestigious Norway academy for very talented young musicians, the Barratt Due Institute of Music, and she was presented the Norwegian Soloist Prize 2014.
Energy sizzles on stage when these two young musicians perform together with Combattimento, with the purpose to present known and lessere known Baroque works in a lively and accessible way. The leading man of the performance will be Antonio Vivaldi, from the wild seas in La Tempesta di Mare to the whimsical seasons of L’Estate.
