Jazz-zangeres Annelie Koning made a spectacular impression at the Grachtenfestival Pitches last February. With passion and conviction she sang a part of the program she invented herself: HEMELVAL – top pieces of Gerbrand Bredero's poems (1585-1618) combined with freestyle improvised music. She who won the pitch will present today, for the very first time, the entire program together with her band LILLY KING.
Tonight Bredero’s poems and befitting folk songs are the starting point for her compositions which melt into sound improvisations. A concert of solid grooves, sweeping melodies, catchy lyrics and a surprising tune. Especially for HEMELVAL, Annelie invited two Amsterdamse improvisers to her band LILLY KING, for a concert that will bring you close to Bredero and into the endearing world of improvisation.
This concert is is made possible by Ypma Piano's.
