Wind in your face, wind to hang in, wind to grab, wind to catch. Wind through your fingers, whirling wind, fluttering wind, cradling wind.
How does wind feel? How does it sound? From a soothing breeze to a soft rustle and sizzling flight we take you on a raging tour for gushing, spurting, swaying.
Waai is an exciting, sensory show for children as of 2 years old! Vogel (bird) dreams about flying and does his utmost to flare up. Flapping with his arms and legs he pecks, ticks and plays the swiftest rhythms with his flying shoes, yet he still fails to fly away. Then he meets Wind and discovers something he has never heard before: rustle. Wind is great at rustling, swishing and even whistling. Thanks to Wind Vogel succeeds to come close to really flying in his own way.
Vogel is played by Anna van Nieukerken (piano), sounding rhythmic and percussion-like. Florien Hamer (cello), has the part of Wind, evoking the rustle. The contrast of two musical characters: staccato & percussional, legato & swaying, with each their own sound and movement is the red line in this performance.
