In Jong Talent in de Oude Wester, various laureates of the Prinses Christina Concours perform in the iconic Westerkerk, Amsterdam. Together with Evan Bogerd, the organist of the Westerkerk, a young talent plays a alternately programme of solo pieces and pieces together with the organ. Today: viola player Elin Haver.
Elin Haver started playing the violin when she was four and went to the Sweelinck Academie voor Jong Talent at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam when she was twelve. At the conservatory, she discovered the viola and it was love at first side. Elin switched from the regular violin to the viola and since then, she is being taught by Judith Wijzenbeek. Elin plays a viola built by Matthieu Besseling and a bow made by Jan Strumpler. Both are made available by the Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds. Elin won first prize in the Britten Altvioolconcours and first prize at the regional finales of the Prinses Christina Concours.
