The string quartet Jewish Amsterdam Chamber Ensemble (JACE) offers a unique program with works from the Jewish repertoire: from Achron to Gershwin, Mendelssohn and Kattenburg.
This ensemble found its origin in 2015 after a Hannukah concert in the Concertgebouw. In four years the Jewish Amsterdam Chamber Ensemble grew into a group of 25 musicians performing in sold out concert halls in and outside Amsterdam. The JACE musicians are from every part of the world: the Netherlands, Israel, Russia, Roemania and South America. The diversity makes up for a unique sound, comparable to pereformances of the pre-war ensembles where freedom and expression were key. The ensemble offers an adventurous repertoire of their own, consisting of classical chamber music, Broadway, jazz, klezmer and traditional Israeli music.
