Two major talents play today during this House, Garden and roof concert: violinist Camille Buitenhuis (1999) and cellist Caspar Westerman (2001)
Camille receives violin lessons from Veselina Manikova at the Prince Claus Conservatory, where she attends the first year. In 2016, Camille won the first prize and the audience prize in the regional final of the Princess Christina Competition and went on to the National Semi-Finals. In 2018 she won a first prize at the international "Starts of the Olympus" festival in Russia. In 2017-2018, Camille was the concertmaster of the Haydn Youth String Orchestra, with which she has already performed solo. Camille recently won third prize at the Giovani Musicisti - Città di Treviso international competition in Italy.
Caspar Westerman (2001) follows cello lessons with Jan-Ype Nota, in the preparatory course of the Prince Claus Conservatory. In 2016 he won the first prize at the National Final of the Princess Christina Competition. Following this prize, he gave a performance in the Spiegelzaal of the Concertgebouw. This was broadcast live on NPO Radio 4. In 2016, during the Summer Academy of the Peter the Great Festival, he received the Labberté-Hoedemaker Prize for his striking game. He is also leader of the cello section in the Haydn Youth String Orchestra. This year he is soloing with this orchestra with the first cello concerto by Joseph Haydn.
