The Syrène Saxophone Quartet brings music and dance together in a unique program; Water Works.
In this program, they bring an ode to their most beloved composer, Georg Friedrich Händel. The composition of this quartet brings a whole new approach to his famous work Water Music. Because water as a constant element apparently never changes, but constantly flows and is in motion, it forms the link between past and present.
Armed with modern instruments, the Syrènes enter into a watertight partnership with Handel. They know how to express the richness of an entire orchestra in a line-up for saxophone quartet, measured according to the spirit level, and are inspired live by his suites. They are then seamlessly interwoven with spectacular choreography, ambient music, and improvisation. The 300-year-old work is emerging in the hands of Syrène into a modern swirl dance on the surface of the water.
