Get carried away by dazzling duets, the most beautiful opera arias and compelling songs. Mezzo-soprano Fee Suzanne de Ruiter (1997) and soprano Anne van Amerongen (1995) have been singing together since they were teenagers. Since then, their friendship bond became close. The singers grew up together musically, as well as in their private lives, as if they are sister.
One chooses brown hair and the other blonde. Thus, the singing sisters giggle, wiggle, and ponder over the charming boys they have just met. They are accompanied by an array of pieces ranging from Monteverdi to Mozart, and Satie to Smetana.
They already see a whole life ahead of them with these unknown loves, but as they lose themselves more and more in singing, more and more existential questions loom. We discover not only how these loves develop, but also how they make their way in the world at a time of great disharmony. In this concert of song and opera repertoire, duets alternate with solo singing, accompanied by pianist Gulmira Issabekova (1990).
You will be theatrically transported into the world of these two sisters, overflowing with lust, love, suffering and fun during this performance.
