Dividivi3 speelt Piazzolla

With the "Histoire du Tango" as a starting point, Dividivi3 takes you into the life of the famous Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla. With this piece, which he wrote at the end of his life, Piazzolla not only shows the development of tango, but also his own career as a composer. Piazzolla played as a bandoneonist in the famous tango orchestra of Aníbal Troilo. Troilo stuck to the original shape of the tango while Piazzolla wanted to develop it further. While studying in Paris, Piazzolla continued to build on his own style, including by adding elements from classical music, especially by Bach and Strawinsky. But Gershwin's jazz music was also an inspiration to him. Together with the jazz saxophonist Gerry Mulligan he recorded the album Summit, in which the jazz and tango merge beautifully.
