Soprano Channa Malkin, violinist Shin Sihan and pianist Daan Boertien are nominated for the GrachtenfestivalPrijs 2020. During 'De Avond van de GrachtenfestivalPrijs' at the Wintertuin of Hotel Krasnapolsky, the winner will be announced.
A professional jury of experts, consisting of Frederike Berntsen (music journalist), Aart-Jan van de Pol (director of Nederlandse Vioolconcoursen) and Marlon Titre (Head of Classical department at the Royal Conservatory, guitarist and composer) selects and judges the musicians, who excel in their field. The nomination is an important stimulus for the musicians and their careers and therefore a prize in itself. For a season, the nominees are being followed by the jury, who then awards the most notably musician or ensemble. The jury will give the winner carte blanche to put together a various programme during the following Grachtenfestival as an Artist in Residence.
During the festive night of the Grachtenfestival, the organisation presents all of the nominees, who will give a brief performance.
Tijdens de feestelijke avond van de GrachtenfestivalPrijs presenteert het Grachtenfestival alle genomineerden, die kort zullen optreden. The host of the night is NPO Radio 4 presenter Ab Nieuwdorp.
