Come dance and party at Sexyland World with no one other than Arp Frique & Family!
Bridging gaps and people, sounds and continents together. That is what Arp Frique stands for and what he wants to get across in his new album 'The Seed', which was recently released on the Amsterdam-based label Rush Hour. Arp Frique made the album with the help of the talented Mariseya, Americo Brito, The Scorpios and Orlando Julius.
Like their new album, their live show is a highly energetic blend of styles, including disco, synth boogie, funk, Caribbean, West African and East African influences. Soukous, calypso and funaná (to name a few) are all intertwined, with the open-minded band always looking to expand their repertoire. It's a never-ending quest that results in an increasingly hybrid sound that works just as well when played live on stage at a venue or festival, as it does on a busy dance floor at night.
The Arp Frique catalog has caught the attention of DJs such as Gilles Peterson, Pegy Gou, Floating Points, Hunee, Antal and many more, bringing his music to clubs around the world while receiving air time on the BBC, KCRW, NTS, to name a few. Arp Frique himself prefers the live experience and presents his music worldwide on stages together with his family: Arp Frique & Family. The lively collective performed throughout Europe and Asia, from the clubs to the big stages such as Lowlands, North Sea Jazz, Dekmantel, Transmusicales, Womad and beyond, in addition to playing sessions for KEXP, Red Bull Music, Radio Nova and many other leading platforms.
