Organ Competition Winners

During this special organ recital, the winners of the 2026 Duyschot Organ Competition will demonstrate why they so impressed the jury. The programme features masterpieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, including the monumental Toccata in F major, BWV 540, alongside the brilliant Toccata and Fugue from Widor’s Symphony No. 4. As a compelling highlight of the evening, Reger’s dramatic Fantasie und Fuge in D minor, Op. 135b, will bring the concert to a powerful conclusion.

Young organist Frits Okken won first prize in the junior category and is regarded as one of the Netherlands’ most promising emerging organ talents. Conservatory student Geurt van Lagen was awarded first prize in the conservatory students’ category. He studied at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and serves as cantor-organist of the Oude Kerk in Zoetermeer.
