TJ's Pretty People

TJ’s Pretty People blends violin, electronic effects, soulful vocals, deep grooves, and free improvisation into a distinctive sound. Their music moves between modern jazz, 70s fusion, neo-soul, and classical influences, inspired by artists such as Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson, Yussef Dayes, and Hiatus Kaiyote.

Frontwoman and violinist Teddy Sicking explores new sonic worlds with her band by combining violin, effects, synths, and vocals. Everything is allowed and anything goes, as long as it grooves.

In 2026, TJ’s Pretty People won the Grachtenfestival Jazz Competition, and Teddy received the Conservatorium Talent Award. The band has performed at venues such as the Bimhuis and Nacht van de Viool. They also reached the finals of several leading jazz and talent competitions.
