Shamis feat. Steve Biko

Shamis is a producer, DJ, and founder of the Amsterdam-based collective INI Movement. Born and raised in Haarlem, he started young as a touring producer for some of the most influential Dutch hip-hop artists. His DJ sets soon expanded into a wide array of genres: jazz, soul, funk, broken beat, house, reggae, and afrobeat. All blending into his distinctive, soulful style. 

Over the past fifteen years, Shamis has performed around the globe and worked with artists such as Pete Philly, Rilan & The Bombardiers, JU-LIA, and Eva Lazarus. Since its founding, his label INI Movement has released over a hundred albums and EPs, featuring artists like K15, Umoja, LYMA, Gallowstreet, Beau Zwart, Jarreau Vandal, Moods, and Gangs of Kin. Tonight’s MC is Steve Biko.
