Opening Junior Grachtenfestival

ÁMÀL Ensemble is an Amsterdam-based group of seven young musicians from Syria Siberia Mexico and France. Amal means “hope” in Arabic and that is exactly what the ensemble brings: an eclectic blend of Arabic melodies infectious Latin grooves and free improvisation. Their repertoire contains a wealth of stories about departure and arrival homesickness hope and longing.

For the opening of the Junior Grachtenfestival ÁMÀL Ensemble presents a festive program for audiences of all ages. Since its impressive debut in 2025 the ensemble has performed at leading festivals and concert venues throughout the Netherlands including a special concert at the Concertgebouw featuring Syrian vocalists. Following a successful crowdfunding campaign the group released its first EP on Spotify in 2025.

ÁMÀL Ensemble is part of the talent development program of Orchestre Partout an organization that serves as a home for musicians in diaspora. Since 2010 Orchestre Partout has provided newcomers with a platform to develop and share their musical talents.
