Noah Stakenborg & Jeline Weening
Story like jazz in the Beatrixpark
In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Jeline Weening and Noah Stakenborg offer a moment of reflection with Schaduwspel. Inspired by the storytelling power of jazz musicians such as Bill Frisell, Aaron Parks, and Pat Metheny, they create a sonic landscape that goes beyond the notes themselves. Alongside the music, spoken texts are performed about how we can truly reconnect with one another in today’s world, something they believe is needed more than ever.
Noah Stakenborg (they/them) is a musician, creator, and cultural producer, graduated from the Utrecht Conservatory (HKU Jazz & Pop). Their work moves between music, storytelling, and performance, with a focus on groove, interplay, and connection. Noah is active in projects such as PARRA.DICE, Bovenste Knoopje Open, and USConcert, and also performs with various artists and ensembles. As a creator, they explore how music and narrative can come together to connect people.
Jeline Weening is a jazz saxophonist studying at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam. In addition to alto saxophone, she also plays soprano saxophone, clarinet, and flute. Her playing is characterized by a warm, soulful sound and a strong focus on expression and emotion. She moves fluidly between swing, R&B, funk, soul, and contemporary jazz, always seeking connection with her audience through her music.
