Michela Amici & Irene Sorozabal
Italian Baroque in voice & harp
Irene Sorozábal and Michela Amici present a programme of music for voice and baroque harp from 17th-century Italy and Spain. In songs by Barbara Strozzi and Giulio Caccini, the text is central, supported by a direct and restrained accompaniment. In contrast, there are the rhythmic and more theatrical works of José Marín and Juan Hidalgo. Enjoy exceptionally beautiful music in the stunning courtyard garden of the Grachtenmuseum.
Mezzo-soprano Irene Sorozábal studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and sings with ensembles such as Cappella Amsterdam and the Nederlands Kamerkoor. She specialises in early music and works from the perspective of historically informed performance practice. Harpist Michela Amici performs internationally as a soloist and continuo player and has worked with Holland Baroque, among others. She was an artist in residence at Gaudeamus and Dag in de Branding.
