Meesterlijk! Florian Verweij (i/p Eduard Preda)
Pianist delivers dazzling concert featuring, a.o. Camerata RCO
“A magnificent plea for the piano music of Jean Roger-Ducasse” – Trouw (2025)
Florian Verweij is praised for his candid, poetic playing and virtuosic technique. After his successful debut in a sold-out Kleine Zaal in 2023 and the critically acclaimed album Sonorités de Paris (2024), he returns with a captivating programme.
On stage, Beethoven’s sparkling Gassenhauer Trio, Prokofiev’s fiery Piano Sonata No. 2, and the shimmering refinement of Roger-Ducasse’s Prélude d’un ballet and Prélude No. 2 come to life. An evening where French lyricism, Russian energy, and Viennese elegance meet in the hands of a pianist who unites imagination and mastery with ease.
Meesterlijk!
In the Meesterlijk! series, three young talents nominated for the Grachtenfestival Prize each present their own evening. They showcase their versatility and compete for the title, with the winner becoming next year’s Artist in Residence.
Please note: Florian Verweij is replacing Eduard Preda for this concert and is not a nominee for the 2025 Grachtenfestival Prize. Ticket holders have been informed.
